CINEMA AND MIXED USE BUILDING IN IKEJA
This is one of the buildings that i find really inspiring.
The client wanted a building that could pass information to its customers by its form, meaning that the building has to be iconic.
Being iconic is one factor that we think drives visitors to a cinema.
In my philosophy too, a building should express its function.
The C-form was to help the cinema with its raked seating. This eventually became a strong statement as far as the building form is concerned.
Again, the "chequred" glass panes gives it a playful rendering.
The car-park had to be covered, and so to best utilize the space, a digital display board was Incorporated into the design.
The budget for this project is about 100million USD.
